Even though I was born and raised in urban Queens County, part of New York City, I had a strong love of nature and the outdoors. I became interested in photography as a teen-ager, when I received a 35mm Zeiss Contina as a gift from my parents.
After graduation from college I moved to the semi-rural northwest corner of New Jersey. I was employed as an engineer for more than forty years, until my retirement in 2001. As a result of my employment, I had the opportunity to travel throughout our great nation and to marvel at its many natural beauties and the handiwork of early Americans who built our nation. Of particular interest to me are our national parks and other scenic wonders, as well as the beauty of the covered bridges and lighthouses that were instrumental in developing travel by land and sea as our nation grew.
My favorite photographic subjects are landscapes in general, the West and Southwest, covered bridges, farms and round barns, lighthouses, flowers, and shore birds.
My wonderful wife, Judy, who often accompanies me on my photographic escapades, provides me with much morale support and encouragement.
